A group of Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) employees came under attack by a politician in the Attanagalla area last night as they had delayed providing power supply for a meeting to be attended by President Mahinda Rajapaksa today, a CEB official said.

The employees had gone out for dinner when the politician had visited the location and found that they had not completed the work.

The politician allegedly assaulted the employees and had thrown their food away.

The employees are due to lodge a complaint at the Nittambuwa Police.
