Karin Wenger of Swiss Public Radio who is based in New Delhi has also been warned against engaging in any media work. She was in Sri Lanka to cover the Presidential elections.

Mr. Abeykoon said that the visa had been cancelled on the orders of the Director Media of the Information Department, adding he was following instructions and did not know the reason for the cancellation.

The journalist had been issued with media accreditation valid until Feb 17.
